Terms of Use
Effective 25 September 2026
These terms apply to motionlyric.com and its tools: the lyric video maker, the BPM finder and the key finder (together, “MotionLyric”). By using MotionLyric you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. The service
MotionLyric is currently free and in a testing phase. Features, limits and styles may change, and we may add paid options later. Because the tools run in your browser, what works depends on your browser and device; MP4 export needs a browser with a built-in video encoder, such as desktop Chrome, Edge or Safari.
2. Your songs and lyrics
You may only use songs and lyrics that you own or have permission to use. That includes the recording, the composition and the lyric text. Songs you wrote and recorded yourself, songs you have a licence for, and works whose licence allows this kind of use (for example many Creative Commons licences, following their terms) are fine. Commercial releases by other artists usually are not, unless the rights holders have agreed.
You keep every right you have in your songs, lyrics and the videos you make. MotionLyric never receives your files: they are processed on your device. You are responsible for what you make and where you publish it, including platforms’ own rules and content-matching systems, and for any songs you generated with an AI music service being usable under that service’s terms.
3. Videos you export
Videos you export with MotionLyric are yours to use for any lawful purpose, including commercially, subject to the rights in the song and lyrics described above. The fonts used in the videos are licensed under the SIL Open Font License, which allows their use in videos.
During the testing phase, every export includes a small motionlyric.com watermark. Please leave it in place when you publish.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use MotionLyric to create or distribute material that infringes someone else’s rights, that is unlawful, or that harasses or deceives people. Do not try to disrupt the site, overload it, or use it to attack other services.
5. Our content
The site, its design, the video engine and its styles belong to MotionLyric. The example clips on the home page use Creative Commons songs by other artists, credited and licensed as shown next to each clip.
6. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on motionlyric.com infringes your copyright, follow the process on our DMCA page.
7. No warranty
MotionLyric is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The BPM and key results are estimates and can be wrong; export may fail on some devices. Keep your own copies of your songs and lyrics: browser storage can be cleared by your browser or by you.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, MotionLyric is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it, which for the free service is zero.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above shows the current version; changes apply from that date. If a change matters for how you use MotionLyric, we will say so on the site.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the courts that can hear appeals from them.
