DMCA and Copyright Complaints

Effective 25 September 2026

MotionLyric respects the rights of artists, songwriters and labels, and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and similar laws.

What is on motionlyric.com

MotionLyric does not host songs, lyrics or videos made by its users. The tools run in the visitor’s browser, and files never reach our servers. The material we publish is our own pages and the example clips on the home page, which use Creative Commons songs credited next to each clip.

A video made with MotionLyric and posted on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or elsewhere is hosted by that platform, not by us. To have it taken down, use that platform’s copyright process, which can remove it directly.

Sending a notice

If you believe material on motionlyric.com infringes a copyright you own or are authorised to act for, email contact@motionlyric.com with the subject “DMCA notice” and include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
  3. identification of the material on motionlyric.com you believe infringes it, with its URL, so we can find it;
  4. your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  6. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable access to the material promptly and, where we can, let the person who provided it know.

Counter-notices

If material you provided was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address, including:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal;
  3. a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification;
  4. your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district in which MotionLyric may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notice, unless the original complainant tells us they have filed a court action.

Misrepresentation

Knowingly misrepresenting that material infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). If you are not sure whether something infringes, consider seeking legal advice first.

Repeat infringers

MotionLyric has no user accounts today. When accounts are introduced, those of users who repeatedly infringe will be terminated in appropriate circumstances.
