Privacy Policy

1. What stays on your device

When you use the lyric video maker, the BPM finder or the key finder, the song you choose is read by your browser with the File API and decoded, analysed, previewed and encoded into video on your own computer or phone. The lyrics you paste stay there too. None of it is sent to our servers or to anyone else.

So that you can close the tab and continue later, the editor saves your project in your browser’s storage on this device (IndexedDB): the song file, the lyrics, the timings and your style choices. When you take a song from a tool page to the editor, it is passed the same way, through storage on your device. You can delete all of it with “New project” in the editor, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

2. What we receive

Anonymous usage events

The site sends a handful of events to our own endpoint on motionlyric.com, and nowhere else:

• the editor was opened, and whether it restored a saved project;
• a song was loaded: its file type (for example “mp3”) and length in seconds, never the file name or its contents;
• syncing was completed, and how many lines the lyrics had, never the lyrics themselves;
• an export finished, failed or was stopped: resolution, format, time taken or type of failure;
• a BPM or key analysis finished or failed, and how long it took; and whether a song was sent from a tool to the editor.

Each event carries the page it happened on and the country Cloudflare derives from the request. We do not store IP addresses with events, set no cookie and attach no identifier, so events cannot be linked to each other or to you. They are stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine, which keeps them for about three months. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the site sends no events at all.

Server logs

MotionLyric is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and we can see short-lived request logs for debugging. We do not use them to identify visitors.

Email

If you write to contact@motionlyric.com, we receive your message and address, and use them only to reply. Ask us and we will delete the conversation.

3. Cookies

MotionLyric sets no cookies. The only browser storage it uses is the project storage described in section 1, which never leaves your device.

4. Third parties

Cloudflare hosts the site and runs our event endpoint. There are no advertising networks, social media widgets, external analytics or font services on MotionLyric: fonts, scripts and example videos are served from motionlyric.com itself. Links to other sites (such as the pages of the Creative Commons songs in our examples) are subject to those sites’ own policies.

5. Children

MotionLyric is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

6. Your rights

Because your audio and lyrics never reach us and events are anonymous, the only personal information we may hold is correspondence you send us by email. You can ask to see it, correct it or delete it at any time. If you are in the EU, UK or California, these requests are your rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA respectively; we will answer within the time those laws require.

7. Changes

If we change how data is handled, for example when accounts or paid features arrive, we will update this page and its effective date before the change applies.
